“…The condominiums feature an almost endless list of environmentally friendly features, from bamboo floors and cabinets to hospital quality filters removing pollutants from air as it enters the building. As for the non-traditional decision to integrate 26 solar panels into the front of the structure, it was all about practicality. “This is straight south,” Helder said, pointing out the wide window facing the BQE. “That was why vertical solar made sense. Even though you’d ideally want to place the system at a 40-degree angle to maximize the panels, our building footprint is so small that space-wise we’re better with this design.”“It’s a good advocate for putting solar in the public’s eye too,” Helder added. “People do talk about it and think about it…”
