Heskin Contemporary will be having their stay with us until March 14, come check them out weekends from 12 - 7pm.
Heskin Contemporary is presenting a group show of local artists called Natural Reaction.
Works by: Myriam Babin, Matthew Fisher, Chie Fueki, Allison Gildersleeve, Nikki Lindt, Greg Lindquist, Sue McNally, Zoe Pettijohn, Julie Peppito, Jennifer Riley, Christopher Schade, Ruud Vrugt and Kelly Wilson
The show explores the theme of humans and their relationship to nature. Natural Reaction is a satellite show on the same theme as Nikki Lindt's solo show, 'Solastalgia', currently on display at Heskin Contemporary's permanent Manhattan gallery.

Metropolitan Green and Hickoree’s are throwing a PARTY to celebrate the opening of our temporary shop as well as the overall launch of the space. This will take place Friday, December 18th at 8:00pm. Please join us for beers, egg nog, and great music. And feel free to invite your friends!
12.09.09 - WE’RE HERE!
We’re so excited that Hickoree’s Hard Goods is here to inaugurate the space! These guys are so much fun. I’m sampling the astronaut ice cream, one of the hundreds of novelty items they sell, as we put the final touches on the store. The space is so well suited for the Hickoree’s aesthetic that the store design happened very naturally, with elements of the raw space giving us ideas all along. We have bolts in the concrete wall acting as magnets to hold up vintage bandanas, a center table made of scraps of lumber from the construction of the building, cinder blocks serving as bench posts, old piping used as a garment rack … And we also had lots of fun scavenging Ebay and thrift stores for the perfect accompaniments to the gifts of the space.
Hickoree’s is a like a 21st century general store with a wonderful mash-up of old and new, which became the theme for the space on all levels. New and old construction materials, new products held in old containers, new and vintage clothing, and in many cases, new designs made of vintage fabrics. Oh, and pickles! Delicious pickles to be followed by astronaut ice cream.
